What do you do and what are you most proud of in your making/designing history?
Raw Studio make a variety of things, created through our own holistic design approach. I hope the Hive hanging chair can live to be a future classic. It looks timeless but offers so much more when you actually sit in the thing. The fact that it came from a real live project I worked on at the Bauhaus in Dessau, creating 3D space from 2D shapes & folds down flat is the icing on the cake.
Where do you work and what materials do you prefer/get most inspired by?
I work in a studio in Woolwich surrounded by a lot of likeminded individuals. New materials and natural textures inspire me the most. I see material choice as fluid within our design approach so am not wedded to any particular material.
What do think will be important or significant for craft practice in general in the future?
Relating to your niche to build lasting loyalty.
What are your own aspirations for the next five years?
To constantly push out innovative, new pieces across a variety of materials and generate 1000 true fans.
