JEWELLERY | LONDON
Does the material in your piece hold any personal memories or stories for you?
I’ve used the materials in these pieces to refer to layers of family history. Carved stone has a particular resonance for me because the first piece of jewellery I was given at an archaeological site in India was carved carnelian. The deep colour and luxurious cutting of the stone in these pieces is used to evoke a darkly luxurious mood, which makes reference to the legacy of colonialism in my family.
