FURNITURE & LIGHTING | BRIGHTON
How does your technique bring out the hidden stories or emotions of the material you use?
The birch plywood I use is an ultra-fine variant, built from 0.5 mm veneers that are rotary-cut much like the shaving of a pencil. The high- pressure laminate is similarly layered — thin sheets of craft paper and resin pressed into a dense, refined surface. These materials are engineered with great precision, their refinement revealing both the ingenuity of their making and the potential for beauty within industrial processes. By nesting components efficiently, the design process honours this precision and minimises waste.
