How does your artwork reflect the transformation of materials and/or the idea of identity?
My artwork reflects transformation through the process of reimagining porcelain clay into new forms that express the identity of the coastal landscape that inspires me. The fragments of stained porcelain are carefully shaped, snapped, and reassembled, mirroring the continual natural cycles of erosion and renewal along the Dorset coastline at Hengistbury Head. Through this transformation, the material takes on a new identity — from fragile shards to cohesive compositions that evoke both the vulnerability and strength of the environment. In this way, the work becomes a personal and environmental narrative, exploring how identity can be shaped by place, memory, and change.
