CERAMICS | LONDON
Does the material in your piece hold any personal memories or stories for you?
Landris responds to the theme by exploring how materials hold meaning through place and memory. Kvika (a platter) and Moli (a jar) are two ceramic pieces that interact as a sculptural table setting. Their forms are inspired by London’s architecture and made using slip casting techniques with stoneware slip, lava fragments, wild clay, and black sand collected from the Icelandic landscape.
The work reflects my connections to both Hafnarfjörður and London, using gathered, local materials to consider how craft can quietly carry a sense of place and identity.
