Belgin Bozsahin

the dialogue between interior & exterior

Belgin Bozsahin was born and raised in Istanbul, where she studied fine art and began working in oils at a young age. Growing up in Istanbul sparked an early fascination with structure, space, and the dialogue between interior and exterior—an interest that continues to inform her practice. After moving to London, she explored materials including paper, yarn, fabric, marble, and mosaic, an investigation of texture and dimension that eventually led her to ceramics, particularly porcelain.

She studied ceramics at Camberwell College of Arts, including a year at the KHIB Academy of Arts in Bergen, Norway. Her time in Bergen marked an intense and formative period with porcelain, offering the freedom to explore and refine its possibilities. During this time, she began casting herself and developing figurative works alongside abstract installations, reflecting her interest in coexistence and spatial tension. Following her studies, she completed higher education in teaching, taught briefly at Central Saint Martins, and later established her studio in North London.

Belgin works across abstract and figurative forms, often using her body to express personal narratives. A movement between figuration and abstraction has become increasingly evident in her Sculptural Vessels series. Her practice spans sculptural and wall-based works shaped through gesture, surface, and intuitive making. Flowing, curved lines form a recurring language inspired by architecture and natural patterns from the microscopic to the cosmic.

She has exhibited in Istanbul, London, Bergen, and the Q.E.II, and her work is held in private collections nationally and internationally. She continues to develop her practice in her North London studio, refining new ideas, forms, and techniques in pursuit of a compelling visual language.
